The Marlow Scene
In 2008 I was asked to paint a mural of the "famous" Marlow scene of the Odd Fellows building, the church, and Jones Hall, that now houses the library, as they appear looking across Tin Shop Pond. I had only completed two small acrylic paintings on wood for a commission when I was asked to paint the mural on the wall of the multipurpose room at the John D. Perkins, Sr. Elementary School in Marlow. I was very nervous, but I took on the task, and here is a photograph of the finished painting. A copy of my painting has even been made into a puzzle for the Marlow 250th anniversary celebration!
You can see photos of the painting process on the
Painting the Marlow Mural page.
