Vibes Peace Prayer Circle
Every
summer from 1996 through 2006 we attended the Gathering of the Vibes
festival, which moved around to different locations in New York and
Connecticut. In 2001 the festival was at G
rieg Farm in Red Hook
,
New York. The weekend started out great, but then severe thunderstorms
turned the green grass into giant fields of deep mud and even made it
impossible to put on the music safely for hours at a time. By Sunday
morning the rain had stopped and the ground started to dry out. I was
walking with my toddler children on the music field and saw this group
of people holding hands and walking in a circle. I was told it was a
peace prayer circle. Seemed perfect to me after such a chaotic weekend.
