The 90 Miler
The Adirondack Canoe Classic, also known as the 90-miler, is a three-day, 90-mile canoe race from
Old Forge to Saranac Lake in the
Adirondacks. My husband's family participates in this event every year and sometimes we support them as pit crew. I took this photo on the third day of the classic from shore at Fish Creek campground. My nephew and his friend were watching my brother-in-law, who was part of the crew in the war canoe that he had restored. It is one of my earlier paintings, but I still love the scene and anticipation it all conveys.
