Scusset Boardwalk
One of the exits along the rotary just before driving over the Sagamore Bridge on Route 3 onto Cape Cod is for Scusset Beach. It is a state run beach with very reasonable day rates and lovely sand. It is just across the Sagamore end of the Cape Cod Canal from my mother's neighborhood of Town Neck in Sandwich, but there is much more sand and much fewer rocks! My sister and I enjoy summer days on this beach with our kids. I took the photo for this painting on one of our visits. It was at the end of a wonderful beach day with toddlers, with the sun going down and shining on the eastern clouds. Perfect!
