One Morning in Gilsum
Gilsum is the next town south of Marlow and half way to the town of Keene where I work. As I travel south down Route 10 each morning I pass by the stone arch bridge over the Ashuelot River in Gilsum. In springtime the morning sunlight seems to glow on the bridge a little more than other times of year. One morning I finally brought my camera so I could capture what I saw most spring mornings, and of course create a painting as well! According to Wikipedia, Gilsum contains "the Stone Arch Bridge, completed in 1863 with the highest vault (36 feet, 6 inches) of any mortarless bridge in New Hampshire. In 1989, it was added to the National Register".
