Moose's Sap Bucket

My neighbor across the road is a very tall and big man who goes by Moose. Once he retired he built a log cabin with a sugar shack in his back yard. One foggy and damp early spring day as I was walking down our dirt road, I took a picture of one of Moose's sap buckets hanging from an old maple tree on our side or the road. Later I created this painting. It is especially meaningful now because the summer after I took this photo, the tree had to be cut down from too much rot. I love that Moose still uses old fashioned sap buckets.
