Isaac Cady House, 1764

We live on a dirt road in rural, southwest New Hampshire. My children attended preschool at The Orchard School in the next town over from ours. We reached the school by driving two miles of dirt roads through the woods and farm land. This house sits at the top of a steep hill a short way from the school. One winter day on the way home from preschool my son said that this view would be very pretty for a painting. He was so right! So I pulled the car over to the side of the road and took the photo of this historic East Alstead house for my painting.
