Cattails and Purple Loosestrife

On the four and a half hour drive to visit my in-laws, we often stop at a gas station around the half way point to stretch our legs. On one summer trip I took a picture of the cattails and purple loosestrife in the marsh beside the parking lot. This was a tiny 4x6 painting I did from the photo. It really is too bad that loosestrife is such an invasive species that crowds out natural plants such as the cattails since it really is a beautiful flower to see.
